Pemberton Music Festival: Unexpected Sights and Sounds
As we danced with a couple thousand of our best friends, one of our favorite moments was one for all to see when mother nature unexpectedly decided to have her own pop up performance. The #PembyFest rainbow appeared square above our beautiful festival grounds turning all eyes to the sky for a memory that we so fondly continue to look back at!
The day Pearl Jam was set to close the festival, we received heartbreaking news that Alan Vega, lead singer of Suicide had passed away. In his honor, Pearl Jam treated the crowd to a once in a lifetime experience as they played a touching cover of “Dream Baby Dream.”

We were stoked to bring the Vans Warped Tour presented by Journeys to New Orleans for the first time in 15 years! Last year Warped Tour is brought back some veterans for an unforgettable summer full of nostalgia and good times. We can’t wait to do it again for 2017- mark your calendars for June 28th!
The Positive Power of Music to Give Back
In August, 2016 brought one of the worst natural disasters in US history. Prolonged rainfall left a large portion of Southern Louisiana flooded. On August 26, Hannibal Buress, stand-up comedian and actor performed to a sold out crowd at The Joy Theater in New Orleans where all proceeds benefited The Baton Rouge Area Foundation’s Louisiana Flood Relief.
Just one month before the Hannibal show, Huka brought Michael Franti and Seane Corn to Wilmington’s Battleship Park for a fundraising music and yoga event in North Carolina. The Yoga. Music. Peace. Benefit on July 19 raised more than $10,000 to benefit the Human Rights Campaign and Equality North Carolina, which includes a $5,000 matching grant from the Rex Foundation. Check out the video below to see the positive vibes and beautiful scenery from the event!
Tortuga Artists Rock Out Rain or Shine!
The 2016 Tortuga Music Festival faced a road block when weather hindered our beachin’ vibes. Luck stepped in and allowed Dierks Bentley to hit the when the festival reopened. Like the pro he is, the crowd immediately responded and the show rocked on as one of our favorite performances of Tortuga.
Not to be outdone by a little yucky rain, Old Dominion was determined to put on a show…anywhere! At a hotel just across the street from our festival site, the band set up for a intimate pop-up performance poolside. Making the best out of a wet situation, this moment became a surprise and definitely unforgettable highlight for many festival go-ers.
The year 2016 has been historical across the board, and it was Huka’s pleasure to unite and bring in the good times for countless music-lovers. It is our mission to continue to produce world-class events in the for years to come. We promise…2017 WILL be better and we can’t wait to spend it with you. Wanna get started now?
